Mentions

Mentioning people and channels, and the role-gated room-wide broadcasts.

An autocomplete popup drives all mention kinds — keep typing to filter, arrows + Enter to pick:

• @name — mentions a member; they’re notified (respecting their notification preferences). Only actual community members can be mentioned.
• #channel — links a channel; clicking navigates there.
• @channel / @here — broadcast mentions: notify everyone in the channel, or everyone currently online. Gated by a per-community minimum role, so moderators decide who may ping the whole room.

Mentions render highlighted for everyone and extra-highlighted for the mentioned person; a mention always notifies, even in channels set to “mentions only”.
